This article of Tompkins County shall be known
as "A local law providing for designation of the official newspaper
of Tompkins County and for public notice of the adoption of local
laws by the Tompkins County Legislature."
That notwithstanding the provisions of § 214
of County Law, the Tompkins County Legislature is authorized and empowered
to designate annually one newspaper of general circulation as the
official newspaper of Tompkins County, wherein all notices required
by law may be published.
Within 10 days after approval of a local law
by the County Legislature, the Clerk of the Legislature shall cause
to be published in the official newspaper of Tompkins County a notice
of adoption of a local law. The notice of adoption shall be published
once and shall contain a synopsis of the law, and a notice that the
full text of the law may be examined at the Office of the Clerk of
the Legislature during normal business hours.
