[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bethel 10-14-1975. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bethel has found that:
A. 
There is a shortage of safe or sanitary dwelling accommodations in the municipality available to families of moderate income at rentals they can afford.
B. 
There exists in the Town of Bethel a shortage of decent, safe and sanitary dwelling accommodations for elderly persons at rents which they can afford to pay.
C. 
There is a need for a Housing Authority in the Town of Bethel.
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bethel, having made the foregoing findings, hereby authorizes and declares that there shall be a Housing Authority in the Town of Bethel, said authority to be known as the "Housing Authority of the Town of Bethel."
Said Authority shall have all of the powers and duties and be subject to all of the limitations conferred by the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut.
Appointments to said Authority shall be made in accordance with Section 8-41 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1958, as amended.
