GENERAL REFERENCES
Drug Abuse Prevention Council — See Ch. 24.
The Common Council hereby declare:
A. 
Its implacable opposition to the illegal sale of any controlled substance on or near school grounds, and its supports severe penalties for such acts.
B. 
That there shall be a drug-free school zone around each school in the city as defined in Chapter 280 of the Laws of 1986, which zone shall consist of the area within the real property boundary of all schools within the city, together with 1,000 feet beyond said real property boundary.
C. 
Its support for full and strict law enforcement of all laws designed to prevent illegal sale of controlled substances within said drug-free zone, and its support for increased criminal penalties for sale of controlled substances within said zone.
The Commissioner of Public Works shall be authorized to prepare and place appropriate signs to be posted at the entrances and exits for the City of Cohoes, giving the public notice thereof.[1]
