Any person who willfully violates any provision of this code is guilty
of a misdemeanor and, on conviction for each violation, is subject to a fine
not exceeding $500 for each day that the violation exists or imprisonment
not exceeding three months, or both.
A penalty ordered under this code is in addition to and is not a substitute
for any other penalty authorized under a federal, state or local law.
A property owner may not be cited for a violation of this code that
is caused by the negligent, wrongful or malicious acts or omissions of a tenant,
provided that the property owner's acts or omissions have not contributed
in any way to cause the violation.
