[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Colts Neck 12-26-1969 as Ch. 31 of the 1969 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A Municipal Court for Colts Neck Township is established pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., amended and supplemented.

The name of the Court shall be the "Municipal Court of Colts Neck Township."
The Municipal Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impress of the name of the Court.
There shall be a Judge of the Municipal Court, who shall be appointed by the Committee of the Township of Colts Neck.

The Judge of the Municipal Court shall receive an annual salary which shall be fixed by the Township Committee of Colts Neck Township and which shall be evidenced by resolution. Said salary shall be in lieu of all fees, costs and any other allowances whatsoever.

The said Municipal Court and the Judge of the Municipal Court thereof shall have, possess and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., and amended and supplemented, or by any other law.

There shall be a Municipal Court Administrator of the Township of Colts Neck, who shall be appointed by the Township Committee and who shall serve for a period of three years from the date of his or her appointment and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. He or she shall perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed for him or her by law, the rules applicable to municipal courts and by the Judge of the Municipal Court, and shall receive a salary as fixed and determined from time to time by the Township Committee, to be paid in the same manner as the salaries of other municipal officers are paid, and which shall be in lieu of all fees, costs and other allowances whatsoever.

The Municipal Court shall convene at such times as designated by the Township Committee, subject to the rules applicable to municipal courts.
