The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town
of Cheektowaga to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations
of state statutes, local laws, ordinances, or rules and regulations of said
Town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.
This chapter shall be applicable in the Town of Cheektowaga, exclusive
of the Villages of Sloan and Depew.

APPEARANCE TICKET
PUBLIC SERVANT
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
A written notice issued and subscribed to by public servants of the
Town of Cheektowaga directing a designated person to appear in a designated
local criminal court at a designated future time in connection with his alleged
commission of a designated offense. A notice conforming to such definition
constitutes an appearance ticket regardless of whether it is referred to in
some other provision of law as a summons or by any other name or title.
Includes the following representatives of the Town of Cheektowaga:
Building Inspector, Assistant Building Inspector, Fire Inspector, Assistant
Plumbing Inspector, Zoning Inspector, Housing Inspector, Police Officer and
Dog Control Officer.

Words used in the singular include the plural, and the
plural includes the singular. Words used in the masculine gender include the
feminine and neuter genders.
The following public servants of the Town of Cheektowaga are hereby
authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violations
of a state statute, rule or regulation of the Town of Cheektowaga that such
public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:
An appearance ticket, other than for a parking violation, shall be served
personally.
