Editor's Note: The provisions of this chapter are derived from
Ordinance 6.5 of Chapter 6 of the Unified Code of Ordinances.
No person shall engage in the business of refuse collection or disposal
within the Village of Old Field without obtaining an annual license therefor.
Each applicant for such a license shall set forth in a sworn statement, in addition to any other information required by the provisions of Chapter 58, the following information:
A.
A schedule of the charges to be made during the term
of the license.
B.
The number, model, year of manufacture and license number
of his vehicles.
C.
The place where the applicant will dispose of the refuse
collected.
D.
Proof of financial responsibility in the event of damage
to persons or property by reason of the negligent operation of his vehicles.
The license fee hereunder shall be $5 per vehicle for a period of one
year or any portion thereof.
The Mayor may refuse to issue a license or may suspend a license already issued in accordance with the procedure established by § 58-9 of this Code whenever, in his judgment, the scale of charges, as filed with the village, has been increased or the vehicles or the place selected for the disposal of the refuse is or will be detrimental to the public health and safety.
