From and after the adoption of this article,
the compensation payable to the elected Tax Collector of the Borough
of Oakmont for collection of a current year's levied taxes under the
Act of May 25, 1945, P.L. 1050 (the Local Tax Collection Law), as amended and revised, and those taxes as levied under
Act 511, of January 1, 1966 (the Local Tax Enabling Act of 1965), assigned him or her by appointment, but not including
those real estate taxes unpaid and filed as liens in the Office of
the Prothonotary of Allegheny County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
shall be compensated at the rate of $2.50 per tax invoice. This fee
shall include all expenses for providing the printing of blanks and
forms, postage and books, commencing with the date of April 1, 2006,
at which time settlement of all levies of taxes for the prior year
shall have been surrendered by the Collector as required by law, and
accepted by the Council of the Borough of Oakmont, at a previously
stated meeting.
The Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough
of Oakmont may appoint, from time to time by resolution regularly
adopted, its Borough Manager or other duly qualified elector as a
Collector of all delinquent Borough taxes, who as such Delinquent
Collector, shall furnish bond, to be approved by the said Council,
conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties as
such Delinquent Collector, and the paying over from time to time to
the Borough Treasurer, all such taxes so collected, as required by
law, in which event the necessary premium on such bond shall be paid
by the Borough of Oakmont.
