[HISTORY: Adopted by the Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Guilford 10-2-1933. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Selectmen shall be empowered to appoint the Guilford Library Association, Inc., to take over the administration of the Guilford Free Library.
Said Association is empowered and authorized to maintain and manage the library known as the "Guilford Free Library" and to control, operate and be in charge of the building and premises occupied by said library; to receive all moneys or other properties of said library, including donations and appropriations; to pay or authorize the payment of all bills of said library and to make such rules and regulations pertaining to the proper running and operation of said library as in the judgment of the Association shall be necessary and proper; and, in general, to have all the powers and authority necessary for the proper running and operation of said library, including the engaging of a librarian and such other assistants as shall from time to time be necessary and to fix the compensation of said librarian and said other assistants.
Said Association shall annually account to the Selectmen of its doings for the preceding fiscal year in time to allow said report to be printed in the Annual Town Report.
