The chief executive officer of the Town of Norfolk is authorized to declare a local disaster emergency in accordance with the terms of the Connecticut General Statutes Sections 28-8a and 28-1(8).
Upon the declaration of a local disaster emergency by the chief executive officer of the Town of Norfolk, the chief executive officer and the local emergency management director may exercise all powers and authority granted to the Town and or its chief executive officer under Title 28 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
The Connecticut State Police, Troop B Canaan, the Chief of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, the municipal health officer, the emergency management director, the chief of the Norfolk Lions Club Volunteer Ambulance Service or their designated representatives, shall assist the chief executive officer in evaluating the need for the declaration of a local disaster emergency.
