Ordinance enforcement — See Ch 100.
It shall be the obligation of each and every owner of property protected by a private fire alarm system to maintain such system in good working order.
In the event that the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., receives two alarm calls from any property within a calendar year, which alarms are not the result of an actual fire or smoke nor of a manual activation of the alarm (false alarms), such alarm system shall be deemed not to be in good working order, and the owner thereof shall be in violation of this chapter.
The owner of such property shall be subject to and liable for a fine of $100 for the third false alarm and for each subsequent false alarm within the same calendar year.
This chapter shall not apply to the fire alarms on property owned or leased by the Town of Norfolk or the school buildings or facilities within the Town of Norfolk.
