This article is adopted pursuant to the provisions
of C.G.S. §7-131a.
There shall be established a Conservation Commission
of the Town of Old Lyme.
Said Commission shall have the responsibilities
and powers which are set forth in C.G.S. §7-131a, as amended.
Said Commission shall consist of six regular
members who shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The terms
of the initial members shall be as follows: two members for a one-year
term, two members for a two-year term, and two members for a three-year
term. Thereafter, members shall be appointed for a three-year term,
ending on the second Monday in January, or until a successor shall
have been appointed.
Said Commission shall have three alternate members
appointed by the Board of Selectmen in January to serve for one year.
All Commission members and alternate members
shall be electors of the Town of Old Lyme.
Per C.G.S. § 7-131a, the First Selectman
may remove any member or alternate member for cause, and may fill
vacancies.
An Old Lyme member of the Connecticut River
Gateway Commission, designated by the Board of Selectmen, shall serve
as an ex-officio member of the Commission.
