Title 30-A M.R.S.A. § 3801 et seq. requires that all innkeepers, victualers and lodging houses be licensed by the Municipal Licensing Board consisting of the Selectmen, Town Treasurer, and Town Clerk.

Pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. § 3813, the Town of Bethel shall charge for innkeepers, victualers and lodging house licenses in accordance with the Town of Bethel Fee Schedule. Fees shall be paid annually.

This chapter may be amended by vote of a Town Meeting as provided in Chapter 5, Administration, Article VII.

After consideration of the business’ effect on motorists’ sight distance, vehicular traffic flow, pedestrian flow and the public health, safety or welfare, the Board of Selectmen, prior to issuance of license, or the Code Enforcement Officer, following issuance, shall be authorized to impose the following conditions upon any victualers' license when the licensee is conducting business upon any public way, sidewalk, or public property:
A. 
Specific location, and boundaries thereof.
B. 
Signage and location thereof.
C. 
Means of trash disposal.
D. 
Hours of operation.
