All buildings and lots of land along the streets of the Borough shall be numbered as follows: every 20 or 25 feet of land facing on every street in the Borough shall, for the purpose of this article, be regarded as a separate lot and, as such, bear a separate number.
A. 
All lots facing on streets running in a northerly direction from Main Street shall be designated by consecutive numbers, beginning with number one at Main Street, and all streets which cross Main Street shall be designated from the northerly side of Main Street with the prefix "North."
B. 
All lots facing on streets running in a southerly direction from Main Street shall be designated by consecutive numbers, beginning with number one at Main Street, and all streets which cross Main Street shall be designated from the southerly side of Main Street with the prefix "South."
C. 
All lots facing on streets running in an easterly direction from Washington Avenue shall be designated by consecutive numbers, beginning with number one at Washington Avenue, and all streets which cross Washington Avenue shall be designated from the easterly side of Washington Avenue with the prefix "East."
D. 
All lots facing on streets running in a westerly direction from Washington Avenue shall be designated by consecutive numbers beginning with number one at Washington Avenue, and all streets which cross Washington Avenue shall be designated from the westerly side of Washington Avenue with the prefix "West."
E. 
The even numbers shall be on the southerly and on the westerly sides of the streets, and the odd numbers shall be on the northerly and on the easterly sides of the streets.
A. 
Every building along the streets in the Borough shall have displayed thereon a number at least three inches in height which shall be placed at the entrance of every building. The number applicable to the building shall be ascertained by the Building Inspector from a map to be prepared by the Borough Engineer and to be filed with the Borough Clerk. It shall be placed upon the building by the Building Inspector in some conspicuous place on the front of the building where it can be readily seen by the public.
B. 
The Building Inspector shall see that a number is assigned to any building that may hereafter be erected and that is now in the course of construction in the Borough as soon as the building reaches a stage of completion so that the number can be placed.

Where any commercial building or improvement is visible from a street other than the street where the main entrance is located, whether on another street or roadway or through a parking lot abutting said street or roadway and there is a window, door or exit that faces or abuts same, the owner, tenant and or occupant of said commercial building or improvement shall affix to that building Arabic numbers displaying the front entrance street number at least five inches high in some conspicuous place, visible from the second street.
Any person who shall violate this provision of this article shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine of not less than $50 for the first offense and not more than $100. The second or any subsequent conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 and/or imprisonment of up to six months in jail, or both. Each day the violation exists shall be considered a separate offense.
