The annual salary, wages or compensation of the officers and employees of the Board of Health of the Borough of Bergenfield classified under the civil service shall be in the amounts set forth hereinafter opposite their respective titles.

The salaries and other compensation of the employees of the Board of Health shall be paid biweekly in 26 installments.
The Board of Health, by resolution duly adopted at a public meeting, shall fix the salary of each officer and employee within the minimum and maximum ranges as set forth in § 341-4 of this chapter.

Effective February 9, 2016, longevity is rolled into the base pay of current employees and hereafter eliminated.
A. 
Overtime compensation shall be paid to all full-time employees on the basis of 1 1/2 times the regular hourly week of 35 hours or seven hours of any workday.
B. 
Paid holidays, sick leave, vacation time and other leaves of absence with pay shall be considered as hours worked in computing overtime.
A. 
All full-time employees of the Board of Health shall receive full pay for the following holidays:
(1) 
New Year's Day.
(2) 
Martin Luther King Day.
(3) 
Lincoln's birthday.
(4) 
Washington's birthday (President's Day).
(5) 
Good Friday.
(6) 
Memorial Day.
(7) 
Independence Day.
(8) 
Labor Day.
(9) 
Columbus Day.
(10) 
Veteran's Day.
(11) 
Thanksgiving Day.
(12) 
Day after Thanksgiving Day.
(13) 
Christmas Day.
B. 
All permanent part-time employees shall receive only those above-listed holidays that fall on their normal scheduled working day. Pay to be received shall be equal to that received for a normal scheduled workday.
A. 
All full-time employees of the Board of Health shall receive two personal days in addition to the above-listed holidays. All part-time employees shall receive one personal day per calendar year.
B. 
An employee must complete at least 90 days of continuous employment before a personal day is taken.
A. 
Sick leave will be computed as one day for each month of service from the date of regular full-time employment, up to and including December 31 following such date of employment and 15 days thereafter for each calendar year.
B. 
Part-time employees shall receive a proportionate number of sick days as represented by the average number of hours worked per week divided by the regular thirty-five-hour week to determine the percentage of allowed sick leave. (Example: 21 hours divided by 35 = 60%. 60% of 15 days = nine days or 63 hours.)
C. 
All unused sick leave shall accumulate to the employee's credit from year to year, and that employee shall be entitled to such sick leave with pay when needed.
A. 
Vacation leave earned is computed at one day per month of service from the date of regular employment, up to and including December 31 following such date of employment.
B. 
Vacation leave shall be 12 days per year for the first four years of full-time service. Thereafter:

Part-time employees shall receive a proportionate number of vacation days to be determined by the average number of hours worked per week divided by the regular thirty-five-hour week to determine the percentage of allowed vacation leave. The percentage is to be applied to the above service schedule, provided the allowed vacation leave does not exceed 70 hours.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed as to such inconsistencies only.
