For the purposes of this article, the definitions contained in § 108
of the Agriculture and Markets Law of the State of New York shall apply to
the words and phrases used in this article.
It shall be unlawful for any owner of or any person keeping or harboring
any dog, whether licensed or not, to permit or allow such dog to run at large
within the Village of Angola, unless said dog is restrained by an adequate
collar and a leash not more than eight feet in length and unless accompanied
by its owner or a responsible person able to control the animal.
Any dog not so restrained found off its owner's premises shall be seized
and confined until disposed of pursuant to § 118 of the Agriculture
and Markets Law.
Dog Control Officers designated by the Angola Village Board, as provided
by § 114 of the Agriculture and Markets Law, shall enforce this
chapter.
The Village of Angola shall make suitable arrangements, by contract
or otherwise, for the impounding and, in the proper case, for destruction
of dogs running at large within the Village of Angola in violation of this
chapter.
After any such seizure and impounding, the owner of such dog, if known,
shall be notified thereof.
