Primary responsibility for responding to 911
alarm calls in the Township is hereby apportioned as follows:
A. Starting at the Lower Burrell line, Allegheny Township
Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (ATVFC No. 1) shall be responsible for
Route 56 (Leechburg Road).
B. Markle Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) shall be responsible
for all of Greenwood Road and Shearsburg Road to Weinel's Crossroads.
C. Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 shall
be responsible for the Bonfire Shortcut and White Cloud Road from
Route 56 to Five Points.
D. If new streets connecting Route 56 and Shearsburg
Road are named and numbered, said new streets shall be the primary
responsibility of MVFD. Otherwise, Leechburg Road addresses shall
be the primary responsibility of ATVFC No. 1, and Shearsburg Road
addresses shall be the primary responsibility of MFVD. If a new street
does not connect Route 56 and Shearsburg Road, then the new street
shall be the primary responsibility of ATVFC No. 1, if the new street
originates from Route 56. New streets originating from Shearsburg
Road which do not connect Route 56 to Shearsburg Road shall be the
primary responsibility of MVFD.
E. Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 shall
have primary responsibility starting at Weinel's Crossroads (1127)
and proceeding north on State Route 356.
F. Markle Volunteer Fire Department shall have primary
responsibility starting at Weinel's Crossroads (1121) and proceeding
south on State Route 356.
G. Markle Volunteer Fire Department shall have primary
responsibility beginning at the point where Route 356 meets LaBelle
Vue Road and continuing to the Vandergrift Borough line on LaBelle
Vue Road.
H. Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 shall
have primary responsibility for all existing and future streets at
the point where Route 356 meets LaBelle Vue Road, if and only if said
streets connect to the four-lane section of Route 56.
This chapter is not intended to restrict, prevent
or limit either fire company from providing additional fire response,
as necessary, or as may be requested or required, beyond the territorial
boundaries established herein and/or as may be necessary or required
for proper fire response procedures and protocol. Rather, this chapter
is intended only to generally establish the territorial fire districts
within which the volunteer fire companies in Allegheny Township will
respond to 911 alarm calls.
