The purpose of this chapter is to establish consistent procedures for the display of the Avenue of Flags on Main Street, Groton and along West Main Street, West Groton.

A.
Flags may be displayed on national and state holidays as well as Flag Day, weather permitting.
B.
The following days are appropriate:

Memorial Day | Last Monday in May |
Flag Day | June 14 |
Independence Day | July 4 |
Labor Day | First Monday in September |
Veteran's Day | November 11 |
C.
The flags should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement. This decision is left to the Troop Committee Chairman's discretion.
Display for nonpatriotic functions is nonconforming, and any such request must be in writing to the Board and approved by all members.
Troop 3 and Troop 1, Boy Scouts of America, have been given the responsibility for the care and maintenance of the flags and the holders for Main Street, Groton and for West Main Street, West Groton, respectively, for which the Board is grateful.
