Pursuant to authority of § 14.1-133.2
of the Code of Virginia, as amended, there shall be assessed the sum
of $2 as part of the costs in each civil action filed in the Circuit
or District Courts located within the boundaries of the County of
Page, Virginia, and each criminal or traffic case in the Circuit or
District Courts located within the boundaries of the County of Page,
Virginia, in which the defendant is charged with a violation of any
statute or ordinance. The assessment provided herein shall be collected
by the Clerk of the court in which the action is filed, remitted to
the Treasurer of the County and held by the Treasurer, subject to
disbursement by the governing body for construction, renovation or
maintenance of courthouse or jail- and court-related facilities and
to defray increases in the cost of heating, cooling, electricity and
ordinary maintenance. The assessment provided for herein shall be
in addition to any other fees prescribed by law.
