Township of Bernards, NJ SECTION 2-24 Mutual Fire Aid Between the Township of Bernards and the Borough of Bernardsville

§ 2-24.1 Established.

Pursuant to the authority of N.J.S.A. 40A:14-156.1 the Township of Bernards and the Borough of Bernardsville hereby agree that the Township of Bernards will provide emergency fire and first aid dispatch service for the Bernardsville Fire Company at annual consideration established by reciprocal resolutions of both municipalities.

§ 2-24.2 Termination of Mutual Aid.

The mutual aid provided by this section may be terminated by either municipality upon 30 days' written notice to the other municipality.

§ 2-24.3 Indemnification.

The Borough of Bernardsville agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Township of Bernards and the Township of Bernards Police Department in the event of loss or injury resulting from any cause in connection with the dispatching services provided hereunder or from any negligent act or failure to act on the part of the Bernardsville Volunteer Fire Department or the Bernardsville First Aid Squad.

This section shall take effect upon the later of: (a) its final passage and publication according to law; or (b) adoption of a similar reciprocal ordinance by the Township of Bernards.
