As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
MOTEL
A series of attached sleeping units with entrances to each such sleeping
unit from a center or interior hall and containing not less than 100 such
sleeping units, with each sleeping unit containing a bathroom and closet space,
and constructed on not less than six acres of land and providing for dining
facilities, as well as public meeting rooms.
OWNER or OPERATOR
The owner, manager, tenant or any person owning or in charge of the
motel and shall include natural persons, firms or corporations.
PERSON
Person, persons, partnerships, firms, company, corporation, tenant,
owner, lessee, licensee or their agents.
SLEEPING UNIT
A room or suite of rooms in a motel occupied or designed for living
or sleeping purposes and containing closet space and a bathroom.
No license shall be issued to any person who has been convicted of a
crime involving moral turpitude nor shall any license be issued to any corporation
in which any stockholder holding 5% or more of the stock thereof, or in which
any director or officer, shall have been convicted of a crime involving moral
turpitude. No licensee shall employ in or about the licensed premises any
person convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude within a period of five
years from the date of conviction.
