An offense against any provision of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 for the first offense or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 15 days for each such offense; $750 for the second offense or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 15 days for each such offense; $1,000 for each subsequent offense or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 15 days for each such offense.
