There is hereby created the Ewing Township Arts
Commission, consisting of 11 members, all appointed by the Mayor with
the advice and consent of the Township Council and all of whom shall
be residents of the Township, selected on the basis of their qualifications
and fitness for service.
The Arts Commission shall provide a community
vehicle for the expansion of the arts and community activities related
thereto within the Township and shall make a continuing study and
survey the status of the arts within the Township and report its findings
to the Township Council annually, or more often if desirable, and
make recommendations to the Township Council as to encouraging the
expansion of the arts within the Township, if necessary.

Four members initially shall be appointed for
a term of one year; four members shall be appointed for a term of
two years; and three members initially shall be appointed for a term
of three years. All subsequent terms thereafter shall be for a period
of three years. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired terms
only.
The Commission shall designate one of its members
to serve as its Chairperson and presiding officer and may designate
such other officers as it may deem necessary.
Members shall serve without compensation.
A majority of the whole number of regular members
shall constitute a quorum.
The Commission shall annually submit specific
budget requests to the Mayor for review and recommendation to the
Township Council for consideration and determination.
