A.
Enforcing agency. The municipal enforcing agency for the State Uniform Construction Code, consisting of the Construction Official, Subcode Officials and assistants thereto, is continued. The Construction Official and Subcode Officials shall be subject to terms of office, tenure, appointment or reappointment as provided in N.J.S.A. 52:27D-119 et seq., and the regulations as set forth in N.J.A.C. 5:23-1.1 et seq. The Construction Official shall be the chief administrator of the enforcing agency. Appointment of the Construction Official, Subcode Officials and assistants thereto shall be made by the Mayor. Each official may be qualified and may serve in more than one capacity, as provided in the State Uniform Construction Code and the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder.
B.
Fee schedule report. The Construction Official shall, with the advice of the Subcode Officials, prepare and submit annually to the Mayor a report recommending a fee schedule based on the operating expenses of the agency and any other expenses of the Township fairly attributable to the enforcement of the State Uniform Construction Code Act and regulations.
C.
Fees. In connection with the provisions of this chapter and the State Uniform Construction Code, fees shall be charged as set forth in Chapter 172, Fees.
D.
State surcharge fee for construction. In order to provide for the training, certification and technical support programs required by the Uniform Construction Code Act and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, the enforcing agency shall collect additional fees as directed by the Department of Community Affairs; the current fee schedule is on file and available for inspection at the office of the Construction Official.
