It is the intent of these regulations to provide
the maximum use of the Village of Alexandria Bay docks by the general
public and to accommodate the reasonable and legitimate requirements
of commercial water-related enterprises.
These regulations apply to all public docks
owned by the Village of Alexandria Bay.
These regulations shall be in effect and enforced
from January 1 to December 31 of every year.

Private watercraft may dock at the Upper James Street Dock and
Lower James Street Dock between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
for up to four hours for $5. Boats shall be tagged on arrival. Dock
fees beyond four hours shall be $2 per hour per watercraft. From 9:00
p.m. until 8:00 a.m., the overnight fee shall be $2 per foot per watercraft.
All fees shall be payable in advance. Village dock fees shall be in
effect from Friday 8:00 a.m. of Victoria Day weekend through Monday
9:00 p.m. of Labor Day weekend. The Village Board may change these
fees by resolution. Rafters will be permitted to allow no more than
one watercraft to raft off another watercraft.

A. Commercial water-related enterprises, which include fishing guides,
marina operators, excursion and tour boats based in the Village of
Alexandria Bay, may dock at any public dock, except the Scenic View
Park Dock, for the purpose of boarding and discharging passengers
between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and between the hours
of 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for a period not to exceed one hour with
the exception of fishing guides belonging to the Alex Bay Fishing
Guides Association whose permitted hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to
10:00 p.m.
B. Commercial water-related enterprises, which include fishing guides,
marina operators, excursion and tour boats based outside the Village
of Alexandria Bay, may dock at any public dock, except the Scenic
View Park Dock, for the purpose of discharging and reboarding those
same passengers between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. for
a period not to exceed one hour.
C. A thirty-foot yellow line will be marked on the area of the Upper
James Street docks which will be used only by fishing guides belonging
to the Alex Bay Fishing Guide Association for the purpose of picking
up and discharging passengers. The yellow line may be moved at times,
depending on the depth of the water at certain times of the year.

A. Scenic View Park Dock is limited to fishing and the
occasional use by overnight excursion boats not based on or near the
Village of Alexandria Bay with permission of the Board of Trustees
or its designee, upon written request made 48 hours in advance of
such use.
B. Parking is prohibited at the Village Boat Launch Docks
on Maiden Lane and Crossmon Street except while launching and removing
boats.
C. Overnight docking is prohibited on all floating docks.

Any owners of real estate on islands within
the Village limit shall be allowed one docking permit for each parcel
owned on any island within the Village limits. This parking permit
shall allow these islandowners free dockage at any public dock in
the Village far a period of four hours. The Bethune Street dock shall
be specifically reserved for permit parking only. Permits may be obtained
from the Village Clerk each year. Such permits must be conspicuously
displayed on any water craft docking at the Village docks pursuant
to this permit.
Upon written application for special use of
Village docks in deviation from these regulations, the Board of Trustees
may permit such use upon such terms and conditions as it may require.
The owner and operator of any watercraft using
the Village docks shall be liable for any injury to persons or damage
to property, including the docks, arising in any manner from the use
of said docks. The use of Village docks is at the sole risk of the
owner and operator of such watercraft, and the Village of Alexandria
Bay does not warrant or assume liability for the condition of said
docks for such use.
These regulations shall be posted at each Village
dock.
