For violation of any ordinance of the Borough of East Rutherford where no specific penalty is otherwise provided regarding the section or sections violated, the maximum penalty shall be a fine of $1,000 or imprisonment for 90 days, or both.
Except as otherwise provided, every day that a violation of any ordinance shall continue shall be deemed a separate violation.
The maximum penalty stated in the general penalty clause of this chapter is not intended to state an appropriate penalty for every violation. Any lesser penalty, including a nominal penalty or no penalty at all, may be appropriate for a particular case or a particular violation.
