[Adopted 1-1-1982 as Sec. 2-12 of the 1982 Recodification]
There shall be a Treasurer of the Borough of East Rutherford, appointed by the Borough Council. The Collector, when so designated by the Borough Council, shall be the Treasurer of the Borough of East Rutherford. He shall serve for a term of one year. The Treasurer shall be a resident of the borough.
The Treasurer shall:
A. 
Receive funds entrusted to or under the control of any department and deposit all funds received by him in depositories authorized by the Borough Council by resolution.
B. 
Have custody of all investments and invested funds of the borough or in possession of the borough in a fiduciary capacity, except as otherwise provided by law, and keep such funds and all moneys of the borough not required for current operations safely invested or deposited in interest-bearing accounts.
C. 
Have the safekeeping of all bonds and notes of the borough and the receipt and delivery of borough bonds and notes for transfer, registration or exchange.
D. 
Keep a full account of all cash receipts and disbursements of the borough, and at least once a month and oftener, as the Borough Council requires, furnish the Borough Council with a statement of all money received and expended by him.
