A committee known as the "Maplewood Open Space
Trust Fund Advisory Committee" be and is hereby established.
The functions of the Maplewood Open Space Trust
Fund Advisory Committee may include but are not limited to:
A. Conducting an assessment of Maplewood to determine
the needs of the Township as they relate to the Open Space Trust Fund;
B. Soliciting input from Township residents concerning
the best use of the Open Space Trust Fund, including open public hearings;
C. Fulfilling other study requests from the Township
Committee related to recreation and open space;
D. Assisting the Township in acquiring funds for the
acquisition of open space within the Township.

A. The Maplewood Open Space Trust Fund Advisory Committee
shall be comprised of the following members:
(1) A member of the Township Committee (ex officio), who
shall serve as a nonvoting member.
(2) The Director of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs
(ex officio), who shall serve as a nonvoting member.
(3) The Director of Public Works (ex officio), who shall
serve as a nonvoting member.
(4) A member of the Recreation Advisory Committee, to
be recommended by the Recreation Advisory Committee.
(5) A member of the Environmental Advisory Committee,
to be recommended by the Environmental Advisory Committee.
(6) A member of the Historic Preservation Committee, to
be recommended by the Historic Preservation Committee.
(7) A representative of the South Orange/Maplewood School
District, to be recommended by the school district.
(8) Five residents of the Township with an interest in
recreation and/or parks.
B. All members shall be appointed by the Township Committee.
C. The Open Space Trust Fund Advisory Committee shall elect from among
its voting members a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer on
an annual basis.

The ex officio members of the Maplewood Open
Space Trust Fund Advisory Committee shall be appointed annually. All
other members of the Maplewood Open Space Trust Fund Advisory shall
be appointed for terms of three years unless otherwise indicated.
All terms shall expire on December 31 of the last year of the appointee's
term. The initial appointment shall designate two three-year terms;
three two-year terms and three one-year terms. Following the expiration
of the initial appointment, all appointments shall be for a period
of three years.
