§ 259-1 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

STORAGE OF MOTOR VEHICLES

The placement, either on a temporary or permanent basis, of motor vehicle inventory, including motor vehicles being serviced, by the owner of a business or by the employees, agents or servants of the owner of a business.

§ 259-2 Storage in municipal parking lots prohibited.

It shall be illegal to store motor vehicles in municipal parking lots.

§ 259-2.1 Storage on public streets in certain areas prohibited.

It shall be illegal to store motor vehicles on any public street located within the area of the Maplewood Village Special Improvement District and the Springfield Avenue Special Improvement District.

§ 259-3 Violations and penalties.

A violation of this chapter shall cause the motor vehicle(s) in question to be towed at the business owner's expense, and/or the business owner being subject to a fine not to exceed $1,000 for each motor vehicle being illegally stored. All violations shall be reported to the Township Clerk, who shall keep on file copies of all violations and shall provide copies of all violations to the Township Committee at the time that the business comes before the Township Committee for license renewal.
