[Adopted 6-28-1977]
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146, there is hereby created in the Township
of Mullica the office and position of Appointed Tax Assessor, who shall be
one in number and who shall be paid an annual salary as fixed by the Salary
Ordinance of the Township of Mullica.
The Township Committee of the Township of Mullica is hereby authorized
to appoint one Tax Assessor pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146,
who shall be paid the annual salary as fixed by the Salary Ordinance of the
Township of Mullica.
The term of said Appointed Tax Assessor shall commence July 1, 1977,
and the term of the first appointment shall be for the unexpired term of the
retiring Honorable Dorothea Arnold, and therefore shall terminate June 30,
1979. Thereafter, the term of said appointment shall be pursuant to the New
Jersey Statutes, said term being for four years, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148.
Said position of Appointed Tax Assessor shall be a full-time employment
position, and said offices of the Appointed Tax Assessor shall be in the Township
Hall.
No person shall be appointed to the position created under this article
unless he or she meets the requirements of N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.30 et seq.
