This article should be known as the "Residency
Requirement for the Office of Superintendent of Highways and Deputy
Superintendent of Highways" of the Town of Brighton.
The provisions of § 3 of the Public
Officers Law of the State of New York, requiring a person to be a
resident of the political subdivision or municipal corporation of
the state for which he shall be chosen or within which his additional
functions are required to be exercised, shall not prevent a person
from holding the offices of Town Superintendent of Highways or Deputy
Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Brighton, provided that
such person resides in Monroe County or an adjoining county within
the State of New York.
