The Commissioner of Public Works shall be responsible
for all matters relating to the construction, management, maintenance
and operation of the physical properties within the scope of the functions
of the Department of Public Works.
The Department of Public Works under the supervision
of the Commissioner of Public Works, shall:
A.
Plans and specifications. Direct, supervise or procure
the preparation of plans and specifications and the letting and performance
of contracts for all City public works or improvements according to
law. He or she shall make available, to the City Clerk, copies of
plans and specifications as are reasonably needed by all parties and
departments concerned.
B.
Civil engineering services. Provide or procure such
additional engineering services as shall be required by any department
of the City.
C.
Designate Building Inspector. Designate a Building
Inspector from the personnel of the engineering staff.
