A structure or object shall be moved only upon
or along the route and in the manner as provided by the Building Inspector,
and the movement of the structure or object shall be made under the
supervision and direction of the Building Inspector, and all reasonable
orders or directions that may be given by the Building Inspector must
be complied with by the person moving the structure or object.
In case the City Engineer shall deem it necessary
for the protection of the pavement, macadam or other street paving,
crossings, culverts, drains or bridges on the route, he shall require
the applicant for the permit required by this chapter to properly
plank places liable to be damaged.
Any person who shall engage in moving any building,
derrick, or other high or heavy structure, machine or thing along,
across or over any street, avenue, alley or other public property
shall keep and maintain red lights at night visible to anyone approaching
such building or other structure from either direction and shall also
notify the Chief of the Fire Department and Chief of Police where
the building or structure is stopped for the night.
Violation of this chapter shall constitute a Class C misdemeanor, punishable as provided in §
1-2 of this Code.
