In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 43:12-28.1 et seq., as amended, a pension shall be paid to the widow or to the minor children of a volunteer fireman who has died or shall have died as a result of injuries sustained in the course of performance of duty as a member of any volunteer fire company organized, existing and recognized within the Borough. Such pension shall be in the sum of $2,500 annually and shall be paid to the widow, during her widowhood, or to the minor child or children of such fireman, if he leaves no widow surviving him; or to such minor child or children after the death of such widow and until such child or children shall obtain his or their majority.
