A parent, guardian or other person having legal
custody of a juvenile 18 years of age or under who fails or neglects
to exercise reasonable supervision and control of the conduct of such
juvenile shall be liable to a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment
in jail for a period not to exceed 90 days, or both, provided that:
A. Such juvenile, while on probation pursuant to an order
by a juvenile and domestic relations court, engages in conduct, either
by act or omission, which if engaged in by an adult would constitute
a disorderly persons offense or a crime and the failure or neglect
of said parent, guardian or other person to exercise reasonable control
or supervision is causally related to said conduct of such juvenile;
or
B. Such juvenile engages in conduct, either by act or
omission, which if engaged in by an adult would constitute a disorderly
persons offense or crime and said parent, guardian or other person
shall have actual knowledge or implied knowledge of the conduct of
such juvenile, and the failure or neglect of said parent, guardian
or other person to exercise reasonable control or supervision is causally
related to said conduct of such juvenile.
