The Board of Commissioners shall appoint a Township Manager for a period of time which may be extended, renewed or modified and shall fix his or her compensation annually by adoption of the Township Budget Ordinance. The Manager shall be appointed solely on the basis of his or her executive and administrative qualifications. The Offices of Township Manager and Township Secretary may be held by the same person. Within 12 months of appointment, the Township Manager must reside within the boundaries of Butler Township.
