Designated parking spaces shall be installed
for any volunteer firefighter living in the City of Coatesville. Parking
spaces shall be plainly designated by lines painted in red or markings
on the highway.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, as used in
this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER
A member of a volunteer fire company recognized by the City
Council, who participates as a volunteer in the position of fire officer,
firefighter, fire police officer, apparatus driver, medical first
responder or ambulance attendant.
A volunteer firefighter living in the City of
Coatesville may secure a designated parking space under the following
conditions:
A. Must live or own property where the parking space
is being requested.
B. Must be listed on the active crew roster for the Coatesville
Fire Department and have served for a minimum of two years.
C. Must be listed on the active crew roster for the Coatesville
Fire Department as presented by the Chief of the Fire Department and
maintain a minimum of 25% of all emergencies either as a firefighter
or medical first responder.
D. Must absorb all costs of the sign, including installation.
E. Must identify the vehicle with a Fire Department identification
plate and submit all information referencing the vehicle to the Police
Department.
A volunteer firefighter who violates any of
the designated conditions set forth in this article must forfeit the
designated parking space, including all costs associated with the
removal.
