The purpose for establishing Courthouse area
parking permits is to help alleviate parking congestion in the area
of the Northampton County Government Complex. Such congestion results
in unnecessary hardship to area residences and businesses.

The area affected by the Courthouse Area Parking
Program includes portions of Ferry Street, Fifth Street, Lehigh Street,
Union Street, Washington Street and Wolf Avenue. Where so designated
in the City's Traffic Code, no vehicle shall remain parked between
the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a
period of more than two consecutive hours without displaying a valid
Courthouse area parking permit. Exception: The north side of the 600
block of Ferry Street, from South Sixth Street to Walnut Avenue where
the hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

A. This program does not guarantee the availability of
on-street parking spaces.
B. All other parking requirements shall remain in full
effect.
C. This program does not apply to metered spaces for
nonresidents. Residents of the courthouse permit parking area shall
be allowed to park in metered spaces within their permit zone.

D. Permits can be obtained between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays, from the
Traffic Division of the Easton Police Facility. The permit shall be
issued after the following documents have been presented to the Clerk:
(1) Driver's registration card;
(2) Vehicle registration card;
(3) Proof of payment of per capita tax, verification that all outstanding
parking fines/fees have been satisfied for any and all vehicles of
the owner;

(4) Completed application; and
(5) Valid use and occupancy permit for business application.
