For the purpose of promoting the health, safety and morals and general welfare of the citizens of the Town and in accordance with the provisions of R.I.G.L. § 45-23-25 et seq., the power and authority is hereby granted to the Planning Board of the Town to adopt, modify and amend rules and regulations governing and restricting the platting or other subdivision land within the Town and to control the subdivision of such land pursuant to such rules and regulations.[2]
