In accord with Article IX, Sec. 9-4, of the Town Charter, this article is intended:
A. 
To fix the total compensation received by the individual performing the job of Finance Director.
B. 
To ensure that the Finance Director performs only those duties enumerated in the Town Charter and Johnston Town Code related to the position of Finance Director.
A. 
The Finance Director shall be compensated with a salary as provided by Town Council by ordinance, plus health benefits, sick days and vacation time. If the Finance Director refuses health benefits, he or she is not eligible and is prohibited from receiving the cash equivalent of those benefits or any other in kind compensation for such refusal. Further, any unused sick days or vacation time that may remain at the end of the fiscal year shall expire and not be carried over to the next fiscal year nor shall the Finance Director be eligible and is prohibited from receiving the cash equivalent of those benefits or any other in kind compensation in lieu thereof.
B. 
The individual serving as Finance Director is prohibited and is not otherwise eligible to receive any other compensation of any kind from the Town of Johnston other than that stated in Subsection A of this section.
A. 
The Finance Director shall perform only those duties enumerated in Article IX of the Town Charter and those duties directly related to that position as may be enumerated in the Johnston Town Code, as amended.
B. 
The Finance Director is prohibited from holding any other job title, either temporarily or permanently, or from performing any other job duties other than those duties of Finance Director.
C. 
The Finance Director's position shall be that of a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and will be required, from time to time, to appear before the Town Council and/or other bodies of Town government as needed.
