As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
OFFICIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
All signs, signals, markings and devices, not inconsistent
with Chs. 341 to 349, Wis. Stats., placed or erected by authority
of a public body or official having jurisdiction for the purpose of
regulating, warning or guiding traffic, and includes the terms "official
traffic sign" and "official traffic signal."
OPERATOR
A person who drives or is in actual physical control of a
vehicle.
TRAFFIC OFFICER
Every officer authorized by law to direct or regulate traffic
or to make arrests for violation of traffic regulations.
VEHICLE
Every device in, upon or by which any person or property
is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, except railroad
trains. A snowmobile shall not be considered a vehicle except for
purposes made specifically applicable by Wisconsin Statutes.
Any person who violates §
260-7 above is subject to a forfeiture (exclusive of costs) of not less than $50 and not to exceed $500.
