It is the intent and purpose of the President and Commissioners
of the Town of Princess Anne to provide by this chapter for the sanitary
collection and disposal of waste within the Town.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
GARBAGE
Waste foodstuffs or table wastes of animal or vegetable origin.
REFUSE
Garden, lawn or tree trimmings, limbs, leaves, small household
items (such as small microwaves, fans, kitchen chairs, small tables,
etc.), major appliances (such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers,
freezers, console televisions, dishwashers, etc.), furniture (such
as sofas, overstuffed chairs, bureaus, chests of drawers, box springs
and mattresses, etc.) and tires.
RUBBISH
The waste material from normal living conditions and business
operations, but not including garbage or refuse.
For the purposes of Town correction and disposal, property owners
shall be responsible for placing waste material containers at the
curbline of their property, as established by the Code Enforcement
Officer, not earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day before scheduled collection
nor later than 7:30 a.m. on the day of scheduled collection. Containers
shall not remain at the curbline later than 9:00 p.m. on the day of
collection.

Violation of any provision of this chapter, except a violation of §
131-7, shall be declared to be a municipal infraction and shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, §
1-8, of this Code.
