No person shall sell any goods, wares or merchandise or any other articles of personal property whatsoever, except milk, meat and farm produce, ice and newspapers, in the Village of Lake George, by hawking or peddling or at auction, without first obtaining a license so to do, to be granted and issued by the Mayor.
A license for such purpose may be granted upon the payment of a fee of $10 for each day for which a license to conduct an auction is granted, and $5 a day for each day for which any other license is granted hereunder.
No person selling goods, wares and merchandise from a cart, wagon, automobile or other vehicle shall cause or permit such cart, wagon, automobile or other vehicle to remain in one place on any public street or place for a longer period than 15 minutes.[1]

Every violation of the provisions of this article shall constitute disorderly conduct, and the person, violating the same shall be a disorderly person and subject to a penalty of $100 for each and every violation thereof and, in case of default in payment of such penalty, the defendant shall be committed to the Warren County Jail for a term not exceeding one day for each dollar of the penalty imposed.
