A twelve-hour-per-day parking limit is hereby
established for the following Village parking lots:
A. James Street Parking Lot.
C. Quirk Lot.

All parking meters and pay stations shall be in operation and enforced daily. Parking meters or pay stations shall be in operation during the hours coincidental with those hours specified for parking time limits in §§
208-22 and
208-23 of this chapter in the respective parking meter zones, except as hereafter provided: All meter operation is suspended on the west side of Canada Street from a point 1,114 feet north of the northwest curbline with Amherst Street to a point 1,195 feet north on Canada Street, and east and west sides of Ottawa Street from the point north of Amherst Street, and also on the north side of Mountain Drive between Canada Street and Ottawa Street, for all hours while school is in session. Meter operation is also suspended from November 1 to May 31 annually on Ottawa Street, and all streets west of Ottawa Street, as well as Dieskau Street, Mountain Drive, Lake Avenue and Mohican Street.

A. A fee of $1 per half hour up to the maximum parking time permitted
in this article is hereby established for parking in all parking meter
zones except hereafter designated in the Village of Lake George.

B. A fee of $2 per hour is hereby established for parking in the following
designated zones.

C. The Village Board shall have the authority to issue preferred parking
passes as necessary and set appropriate fees for same, for designated
special events.

The Village Board shall be responsible for the
installation, operation, maintenance, policing and supervision of
parking meters or pay stations in the Village of Lake George.
A. Installation.
(1) Pavement marking shall be applied where practicable,
outlining parking spaces in the parking zones established in this
article.
(2) Parking meters shall be installed immediately adjacent
to the parking spaces where applicable. Pay stations shall be installed
in convenient locations for multi-space use.
(3) No parking spaces shall be applied at, nor single
space meters installed adjacent to, locations where parking, standing
or stopping is prohibited pursuant to Section 1202 of the Vehicle
and Traffic Law, or by this or any other ordinance of the Village
of Lake George where parking spaces are in conflict with such prohibitions.
B. Operation.
(1) Each parking meter shall operate so as to indicate
that the appropriate fee has been deposited in such meter.
(2) Each parking meter shall display a signal indicating
the expiration of the time period associated with the deposit of fees.
(3) Each pay station shall dispense a receipt showing the time paid by
the recipient. Such receipt shall be displayed on the dashboard of
the vehicle by the recipient.

The Village Clerk shall keep a record of the
collection of fees received from all parking meters, pay stations
and other revenues connected with special parking permits. Such fees
shall be utilized to cover the cost of operation, maintenance and
collection of the meters as well as other seasonal services necessary
to support our tourism industry.
In the event of a public emergency, the Mayor,
or Acting Mayor in his absence, of the Village of Lake George shall
have the power to suspend the operation of the provisions of this
article for the duration of such emergency.
