In view of the indiscriminate sales of cigarettes to anyone, including
minors, by automatic vending machines and self-service displays, all cigarette
vending machines and self-service displays of cigarettes are hereby prohibited
in the Township of Hillsborough.
All tobacco automatic vending machines and tobacco self-service displays
made unlawful by the terms of this chapter shall be removed within 90 days
of the adoption of this chapter.
Any person owning, operating, renting or permitting the use of a cigarette
vending machine or self-service cigarette display on premises under his or
her control shall be subject to a fine of $250. Each day on which such a machine
is owned, operated, rented or permitted on the premises, shall result in an
additional fine of $100 per day.
