For the purpose of this chapter, certain words
used herein are defined as follows:
FINAL PLAT
The final map or drawing on which the exact subdivision plan
is presented for approval and which, if approved, will be submitted
to the County Clerk for recording.
PRELIMINARY PLAN
A tentative subdivision plan, in lesser detail than the final
plat, indicating the approximate proposed layout of a subdivision
as a basis for study and consideration prior to preparation of the
final plat.
RESERVE STRIP
A strip of land retained in private ownership to prevent
the extension and/or connection of a public street or right of way.

SKETCH PLAN
An informal plan, not necessarily to exact scale, indicating
salient existing features of a tract and its surroundings and the
general layout of a proposed subdivision.
STREET
A strip of land improved for and devoted to public use for
the movement of vehicular traffic, whether denominated a street, highway,
road, avenue or other similar designation. The following subclassifications
of the term shall also be applicable to the application of this Code:

B.
COLLECTOR STREETSCounty or Village streets that serve as connections between minor streets and arterial streets, or as routes for through-traffic entering and exiting the Village. Forman Street, Sullivan Street, Lincklaen Street, Fenner Street, Mill Street and Chenango Street are all collector streets.
C.
MINOR STREETSAll Village streets not defined herein as an arterial street or a collector street.
D.
MARGINAL ACCESS STREETSMinor streets which are parallel to and adjacent to arterial streets and which provide access to abutting properties and protection from through traffic.
E.
CUL-DE-SAC-STREETSMinor streets with only one end open for through vehicular traffic and the other end(s) terminating in a vehicular turnaround, which may vary in design, also known as "dead-end" streets.
SUBDIVISION
A division of any part, parcel or area of land by the owner
or agent either by lots or by metes and bounds into lots or parcels
two or more in number for the purpose, whether immediate or future,
of conveyance, transfer, improvement, building development, or sale.
The term "subdivision" includes "resubdivision."
