There shall be a Department of Human Services,
the head of which shall be the Director of Human Services. He/she
shall be appointed by the Town Administrator for an indefinite term
and may be removed by the Town Administrator with or without cause.
(1)
The Director of Human Services may appoint such assistants
as he/she deems necessary within the limits of the appropriations
therefor in order to carry out his/her required duties.
(2)
He/she shall have all the powers and duties relating
to the poor, needy, dependent and defective persons including management
of any institutions of the Town for the care of the aged, infirm,
indigent and chronically ill.
(3)
He/she shall administer all welfare statutes of the
state or federal government, the administration of which is delegated
to the Town.
