[Adopted 12-10-2009 by Ord. No. 2009-09]
A.
The Tax Collector shall, on or before the 10th day of each month, provide to the Township a true, verified statement in writing on a form approved by the Department of Community and Economic Development for all taxes collected for the Township during the previous month, giving the name of the taxables, the amount collected from each, along with discounts granted or penalties applied, if any, and the total amount of taxes received, discounts granted and penalties applied. The Tax Collector shall include with each statement a reconciled monthly Tax Collector's report for each type of tax collected. The report shall be reconciled from the tax duplicates to the amount of taxes remaining to be collected.
B.
If the Tax Collector does not provide the statement, including the reconciled reports, by the 10th of the month, the Tax Collector shall be subject to a late filing fee as follows:
(1)
First six days: $20 for each day or part of a day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays);
(2)
After sixth day: $10 for each day or part of a day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).
(3)
The maximum fee payable with respect to a single statement with reconciled reports shall not exceed $250.
C.
If the Township determines that there is reasonable cause for failure to timely file the statement with reconciled reports, the Township may waive the late filing fees.
D.
The Township shall receive an overdue statement with reconciled reports even if any late filing fees have not been paid, but the statement with reconciled reports shall not be considered filed until all fees have been paid. No further late filing shall be incurred, notwithstanding the fact that the statement with reconciled reports is not considered filed.
The Tax Collector shall be entitled to the payment of commissions for the collection of real estate taxes when the Tax Collector has paid over to the Township on or before the 10th day of each month tax receipts for the previous month and when the Township receives the Tax Collector's required monthly reports that are due by the 10th day of each month for the previous month's activity.
