The County of Burlington shall provide public health services
of a technical and professional nature through the County Health Department,
as agent of the City Municipal Board of Health in compliance with
the Local Health Services Act, N.J.S.A. 26:3A2-1 et seq. The County
Health Department shall provide public health services as further
provided herein and which meet the standards of performance indicated
in the Local Health Services Act.
There shall be a Health Officer whose duty it is to perform
inspections and other functions to ensure compliance with City ordinances.
It shall be lawful for the Health Officer and/or other representative
of the County Health Department, inspector, or any person acting under
and by authority of the County Health Department or the City, on showing
such authority, to enter into or on any lands, tenements, buildings
or other premises for the purpose of ascertaining that City ordinances
are complied with.
No person shall have, use or maintain any place or building
within the City for the purpose of slaughtering or killing animals
without first obtaining a permit from the Board of Health.
Violations of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, Article
III, General Penalty.
