The purpose of this chapter is to regulate businesses dealing
in gold, silver and/or gemstones within the Township so as to assure
and safeguard the health, safety and general welfare of the residents.
As used in this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows:
DEALER IN PRECIOUS METALS AND STONES
Any person or business entity who, in the regular course
of business, purchases for resale, distribution to another or manufacture
articles containing precious metals and stones.
PRECIOUS METALS AND STONES
Any article containing gold, silver or gemstones, including
but not limited to diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pearls.

A license shall be issued for one year and shall be renewed
prior to the expiration of each licensing period. The fee for a license
or its renewal shall be set by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.
Any licensed dealer who violates any provision of this chapter,
in addition to the fine prescribed by this chapter, shall have his
license revoked.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this
chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine not exceeding
$1,000, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such
fine and costs, shall be imprisoned for a term not exceeding 30 days.
